Allied Environmental Group shared their knowledge of the technology available to growers to optimize their operation at the Field Technology Day on September 1, 2009 held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. Customers of Southwest Landmark, Inc. and Allied Environmental Group along with other growers learned about many in-cab component functions including a focus on in-cab guidance. The VRS/CORS RTK network, which is new to the marketplace, was showcased and covered in great detail. Many other technologies and services were discussed; all in which improve on-farm efficiencies and contribute to individualized production plans.

Representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation were also in attendance to see this technology in action and answer questions. They are an intricate part of the VRS/CORS auto-steer network in which Allied Environmental Group is introducing to the agricultural market place. Allied Environmental Group provides components and service for those customers who are accessing this new technology.

Earlier this spring, Allied Environmental Group Field Technology Specialists were hired by Monsanto to equip and calibrate auto-steer and a controller on a Case IH tractor. Monsanto uses this tractor on various research efforts across the state of Ohio. This tractor along with an AGCO tractor and a Yamaha Rhino, both equipped with precision technology components, were on hand. The growers and staff were able to utilize this equipment first-hand and be trained on current updates during the demonstration session.

Field Technology Specialists were available to offer advice and respond to questions for growers in attendance; who farm in several surrounding counties including Clinton, Fayette, Green, Madison, Pickaway and Warren.
